A veteran financial journalist, prior to joining ISS Media, she was executive editor and then editor at Pensions & Investments as executive editor and editor. She has also worked as Americas Editor of International Financing Review, a magazine focused on capital formation. Prior to that, she spent 15 years at The Bond Buyer, including 10 years there as the Editor in Chief. Amy was a Knight Wallace Journalism Fellow for business at the University of Michigan, where she studied politics, taxation and infrastructure finance. She is a self-described public policy nerd. She is a member of the Journalism and Women Symposium and a mentor-editor for the OpEd Project. She has a master’s in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in international relations and history from Tufts University. Sahil Mahtani (Strategist, Ninety One Investment Institute ) Sahil Mahtani is a strategist at Ninety One, within the Multi-Asset investment team and the Ninety One Investment Institute. Prior to that he was in Deutsche Bank's research department, latterly within the thematic research team. He has been published by The Economist, The Financial Times, and The Wall Street Journal. He graduated from Harvard University with an AB in history in 2008. Varun Laijawalla (Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Equity, Ninety One ) Varun is a portfolio manager for the Emerging Markets ex China Equity Strategy and co-portfolio manager for the Emerging Markets Equity Strategy within the 4Factor team at Ninety One. Based in London, in addition to managing Emerging Markets portfolios, his research responsibilities include covering a number of technology businesses within the region. He also has a passion for sustainability and has helped to build out 4Factor’s approach to ESG. Prior to joining Ninety One, he was vice president of Asia ex-Japan Equity Sales at Macquarie Capital Securities, and was based in Hong Kong for 5 years. Varun started his career in London at Corporate Value Associates, where he consulted blue-chip corporates in the Financial Services sector. Varun holds an MBA from INSEAD with a specialization in Finance. He earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Warwick. Alan Siow (Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Fixed Income, Ninety One ) Alan is a portfolio manager in the Fixed Income team at Ninety One with responsibility for Emerging Markets Investment Grade Corporate Debt, Emerging Markets Transition Debt and All China Bond. Prior to joining the firm, Alan worked at BlueBay Asset Management where he was a portfolio manager specialising in emerging markets. From 2008 to 2011 Alan worked at Alchemy Special Situations as an executive responsible for European distressed debt and special situations investing. Prior to Alchemy, Alan was a vice president in fixed income at Citigroup Salomon Smith Barney. Alan started his career at Deloitte in Australia. Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, first class honours (Accounting and Finance) degree from the University of Western Australia and completed a Masters in Business Administration at INSEAD, France. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant (Australia and New Zealand).
